📚 Backpacks, Blessings & Baked Goods: Our Back-to-School Drive at Chic Sweets Bakery

There’s something magical about a fresh notebook, a brand-new backpack, and the promise of a new school year.

At Chic Sweets Bakery, we know how much preparation it takes to get kids ready to learn. As a community-rooted business — and a former teacher myself — I understand that back-to-school season can bring both excitement and stress, especially for families facing financial challenges.

That’s why we hosted our Annual Back-to-School Drive this month, right here at the bakery. And let me tell you — the love shown by our community? Sweet doesn’t even begin to describe it.

🛍️ What We Collected

With your help, we were able to collect:

Over 75 backpacks
200+ packs of pencils, crayons, and notebooks
Dozens of lunchboxes, glue sticks, and classroom supplies
Gift cards for uniforms and shoes

Every single item donated went to local students in need — many of them right here in our own neighborhood, in Klein and Aldine ISD schools.

💛 Why It Matters to Us

Before I was known as The Lemon Bar Lady, I was “Ms.” in the classroom. I’ve seen firsthand how a student’s confidence can skyrocket when they walk into school feeling prepared and supported. It’s not just about supplies — it’s about dignity, pride, and hope.

🍪 Sweet Incentives for a Good Cause

As a little thank-you, we offered a free cookie to every customer who dropped off supplies — and a few surprises for those who went the extra mile.

We also created a special "Back-to-School Box" filled with kid-friendly treats and donated 100% of those proceeds to purchasing supplies for local schools.

Lauren & Gator’s Stunning Valentine’s Weekend Wedding Cake Love was in the air this Valentine’s Day weekend as Lauren and Gator celebrated their wedding in grand style at The Bell Tower on 34th Street. Their love story deserved nothing less than a show-stopping cake, and we were honored to create a breathtaking three-tiered masterpiece to mark the occasion. The Cake: A Vision of Romance Lauren and Gator’s wedding cake was designed to capture the essence of love—bold, timeless, and unforgettable. The couple chose red velvet , a classic flavor known for its rich, velvety texture and subtle cocoa undertones, perfectly complementing the romance of the weekend. Each tier was generously layered with our signature cream cheese frosting, balancing sweetness with just the right touch of tang. A Design Fit for a Love Story The three-tiered beauty stood tall, exuding elegance with every detail. The smooth, ivory buttercream finish provided a flawless canvas for delicate sugar roses cascading down the side, mirroring the lush floral arrangements of their reception. Edible gold accents added a touch of opulence, reflecting the grandeur of The Bell Tower’s architecture. The top tier featured a custom cake topper with Lauren and Gator’s initials intertwined—a simple yet meaningful representation of their new union.
